Informed by two decades on the world’s most significant stages, from Carnegie Hall to ElbPhilharmonie, The Carlos Miguel Prieto Fellowship provides rising conductors with the formative tools to access world-class career opportunities. Fellows study physical communication (gesture), analyze core orchestra repertoire, and connect with world-class conductors, orchestra principals, administrators, and agents for enhanced professional guidance. The 6-month remote interactive experience introduces participants to all aspects of the conducting profession, guided by today’s most sought-after and respected international conductors.
OAcademy Artist Diploma
The OAcademy Artist Diploma is tailored to the busy lives of rising musicians on the go. Offered by a select group of the world’s top music conservatories, the Artist Diploma is the universal standard of professional readiness for music performers.
The OAcademy Artist Diploma is a fast-track professional certificate that prepares rising conductors for the complex demands of an evolving performance industry. The Fellowship lasts from January to June 2025.

2024 Conducting Fellows

Colin Roshak is a conductor, clarinetist and entrepreneur. He is a proud student of Richard Hawkins, Tim Weiss, James Bagwell, Kai-Yun Lu and Craig Hay. He practices Dalcroze eurythmics, meditation and is trying to get better at running. His day typically begins with green tea and his mind often drifts to the Chugach mountains.

Mexican-born artist Eduardo de la Vega Garza has cultivated his musical expertise at The Juilliard School and Escuela Superior de Música y Danza de Monterrey. Guided by esteemed conductors such as Jeffrey Milarsky, Pierre Vallet, and Jorge Mester; Eduardo has collaborated as pianist, conductor and educator with some of the most influential artists and ensembles worldwide.

Jorge Ernesto Reséndiz García studied orchestral conducting with Gabriela Díaz Alatriste and currently to maestro Pablo Varela. Works in the management of the Guri project. In 2023 was an assistant to maestro Pablo Varela in the Symphony Orchestra of the State of Mexico.

Jorge Rodríguez started his musical studies in piano and percussion. In 2018, he started his studies of solo and chamber music in Antwerp, Belgium. He is currently studying orchestral conducting with Ivo Venkov, and opera repertoire with Federico Santi. He has participated in masterclasses with Neeme Järvi, René Gulikers, Geoffrey Spratt, and Robert Houlihan.

Born in Puebla, Mexico, Marzal started his studies in music at the age of 5. At 10 years old, he started his studies in violin. He obtained his Bachelor in Music in UDLAP, and his Masters and Professional Studies in Conducting in Manhattan School of Music in NYC. He has been Assistant Conductor in Bergen Philharmonic, NAS and Master Choral in NYC.

Kelly Kawai Lam served as Assistant Conductor for Mozart’s Don Giovanni at Prague's Estates Theatre in 2023. She was a Conducting Fellow with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra under JoAnn Falletta for the 2021-2022 season. She is gratefully mentored by David Angus of Boston Lyric Opera and holds degrees from Mannes, Cambridge and Harvard.

Malcolm Parson is best known for his work as a member of both Turtle Island Quartet and Carolina Chocolate Drops.

Israeli Austrian conductor Orr Guy graduated RNCM in 2018, shortly after he was appointed as PSM’s musical director. In 2021 he won 1st prize in Citta di Brescia conducting competition. Since 2022 he is Nova Orchester assistant conductor. In 2023 he participate Domaine Forget and was chosen by Yannick Nezet Seguin to conduct Orchester Metropolitain

Born and raised in Yunnan, Sally Mingyan Yu is a rising conductor. Yu completed her education at Cornell University, Columbia University, and New England Conservatory. She turned her passion for classical music into lifelong career pursuit in 2018. She is currently a doctoral student in orchestral conducting at Michigan State University.

Sheila del Bosque Fuentes is a Cuban multi-award-winning flutist, conductor, composer, and educator. She is proudly a Haynes artist, Jazz Committee Chair of the National Flute Association, and professor at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She holds a B.M and an M.M from Berklee College of Music in Film Scoring, Performance and Conducting.

Shutong Chen, a Chinese conductor, has collaborated with several music groups, including the China Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Sinfonietta, the Lanzhou Symphony Orchestra and the Xiamen University Symphony Orchestra. She has founded the Liuxiang Chamber Orchestra and Choir, which is dedicated to exploring and performing diverse music.

Timothy Morrow is a conductor, composer, and pianist from Basking Ridge, NJ, USA. He holds bachelors degrees in piano and composition from Westminster Choir College, and is currently working on a masters in conducting at Bard Conservatory. Timothy also enjoys singing in the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir and working as an amateur cellist.
Who is the Conducting Fellowship for?

The Carlos Miguel Prieto Conducting Fellowship is a six-month, immersive journey leading to an Artist Diploma designed for twelve emerging conductors of any nationality. Applicants are likely to have undertaken some prior conducting study and to be conducting academic or community ensembles and orchestras.
